Sisyrinchium palustre  Diels;  Iridaceae

Hierbas de hasta 25 cm de alto. Las hojas son todas basales, generalmente sobrepuestas en la base, miden hasta 15 cm de largo, son alargadas y muy estrechas. Las inflorescencias son terminales, con 1 a pocas flores. Las flores miden alrededor de 8 mm de largo, tienen forma de copa, con 6 tépalos de color amarillo brillante con rayas cafés por fuera. El fruto es una cápsula globosa, seca, de color negro brillante, que eventualmente se abre.

Distribución: Ecuador y Perú. En el PNC se encuentra en el páramo de pajonal y de almohadillas.

Herbs up to 25 cm tall. The leaves are all basal, generally overlapping at base, up to 15 cm long, elongate and narrow. The inflorescences are terminal, with 1 to few flowers. The flowers are up to 8 mm long, cup-shaped, have 6 bright yellow tepals with brown stripes on the outer surface. The fruit is a globose, dry, glossy black capsule, which eventually opens.

Distribution: Ecuador and Peru. In CNP it is found in the grass and cushion páramos.
